Job Seeker FAQs
How soon can I start working?
Our available jobs change on a daily basis. Once you’ve completed the application process and are hired, we will match you with jobs that fit your preferences and skills. An Active recruiter will contact you to offer you appropriate positions.
What is involved in the application process?
Our application process starts when you Register Online. You will need documentation to show that you are legally authorized to work in the United States.
Next, a professional recruiter will:
- Review your registration form
- Contact you to schedule a phone interview
- Collect your complete work history
- Schedule an in-person interview
- Send you our Onboarding Application package, which is the second step in our hiring process.
- Conduct reference checks (you’ll need to provide info on previous employers we can contact)
- Review your employment documents to verify your eligibility
- Provide you with final paperwork, including the I-9 form, that you’ll need to complete
Then, we’ll go to work for you to find positions that fit your skills, experience and interests. When we do, we will invite you in for a job-specific orientation.
How much will I be paid?
Your hourly wage will vary depending on the job. We will tell you the pay and hours in advance, before you accept the job.
How do I find out about jobs I might be interested in? Should I contact my local branch or will they call me?
Call your Active Staffing branch to inquire about open positions. A recruiter will be happy to answer your questions and let you know what positions we have available.
A recruiter may also contact you to offer you jobs that fit your skills and interests.
What if I am not interested in a position when it is offered? Is it all right to turn it down?
Not every job is going to meet your expectations. If you are not interested in a position, you are free to decline. We will continue to offer positions to you based on your skills and preferences.
How can I let you know I need or want to work?
We encourage you to stay on contact with your local Active branch to tell us about your availability.
What if I am on an assignment and decide it’s not for me?
We realize that not every job is going to be a good fit for you. If you are on an assignment and find it is not going to work for you, contact us immediately. You may be asked to stay at an assignment long enough for us to find a replacement, but we will work to find you a different position as quickly as possible.
What do I pay for your services?
There is no charge to you for any of the services Active Staffing Services provides.
