Elliot Elzweig

Founder & President

Elliot began his staffing career working for his father at Active Employment Agency in 1976, an industrial employment agency founded in 1947. In 1989 Elliot set up and became president of Active Temporaries Ltd./Active Staffing Services. At that time, the company focused on permanent placement. Elliot transitioned the business model and expanded the company’s services to include temporary placements. Later, Elliot led Active’s expanded focus on industrial, production, warehouse, retail, and food service niches and led the company’s growth from its single six-person location in Manhattan to branches in New Jersey, Georgia, Florida and Texas.

Benjamin Elzweig

Chief Executive Officer

In his role as CEO, Benny is focused on Active’s strategy, business operations and financial performance. A third generation Certified Staffing Professional with a true passion for the industry, he was influenced at a very early age by his father, Elliot, who brought Benny into the family business when he was in high school. Those summer jobs made him keenly aware of the processes necessary to provide quality-driven service to both client companies and associates. Benny’s passion for the staffing industry was further fueled as two of his siblings founded staffing agencies of their own in separate niches. In addition, Benny leads the company’s expansion through new office openings and acquisitions and continues the Elzweig legacy began by his grandfather in 1947.

Jim Kennett

Chief Operations Officer

Jim brings more than 20 years of staffing experience to his role as COO at Active. He joined the company in 2017 as Southern Region Vice President, was named Vice President of Sales in 2019, and was promoted to Vice President of Operations in 2020. In this executive role, Jim has overall responsibility for the company’s recruiting, operational processes, branch teams, and human resources function. He also leads the salesforce and sales culture, including sales training, and target account management. Prior to joining Active, he spent nine years as a vice president for a global staffing firm. Jim earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and is working on his master’s degree at the University of Miami.

Anna Fazekas, Director of Human Resources

With more than 17 years with Active Staffing, Anna brings nearly two decades of expertise to her role leading the Human Resources Division. Spanning back to 2005, Anna’s responsibilities have grown as Active has expanded throughout the East Coast. Her SHRM-CP Certification, and impressive tenure in the Staffing Industry have also contributed to Anna’s selection as a Mentor in the American Staffing Association’s mentorship program.

Fern Grant, Business Development Manager

A creative and inventive thinker, Fern has been an integral part of the Active Staffing team for over 15 years. Responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships with both new and old clients, Fern has established exceptional rapport with our staffing customers. From New York to Texas, Active clients look to Fern to assist with a wide range of staffing services and solutions, enabling Active Staffing to serve as a proven solutions based industry partner.

Patty Curty, National Director of Transportation

Patty joined Active in 2021 as we launched our transportation division. She brings more than 11 years of driver staffing experience to the role, along with four years as a cargo manager with Delta Airlines. She has a degree in business administration and management from Kean University in New Jersey. Patty lists customer service and problem solving as her top skills.

Naomi Gonzalez, Branch Manager

Jersey City Office

Naomi joined Active Staffing in 2019 as a recruiter and was named Branch Manager in 2021. She previously worked in the staffing industry as a branch manager and onsite manager. She also served in the U.S. Army as a unit supply specialist. Naomi’s expertise in the light industrial sector, logistics, and management, combined with her bright personality, make her a natural on the Active Staffing team.

Jennifer Suero, Branch Manager

Arlington Office

Jennifer has worked in the staffing and HR field for more than 13 years in a variety of recruiting, payroll and coordinating roles. She joined Active in 2020 as a recruiter and was promoted to branch manager in 2021. Jennifer studied business executive administration at Centro Apec University in the Dominican Republic.
