Elliot began his staffing career working for his father at Active Employment Agency in 1976, an industrial employment agency founded in 1947. In 1989 Elliot set up and became president of Active Temporaries Ltd./Active Staffing Services. At that time, the company focused on permanent placement. Elliot transitioned the business model and expanded the company’s services to include temporary placements. Later, Elliot directed Active’s expanded focus on industrial, production, warehouse, retail, and food service niches and led the company’s growth from its single six-person location in Manhattan to branches in the Bronx, New Jersey, Florida and Texas. Elliot remains extremely involved in Active’s day-to-day operations and continues the family’s pioneering efforts in the staffing industry.
Executive Vice President
Mike is a veteran leader in the staffing industry, with more than 18 years in senior leadership roles. Prior to joining Active in 2017, he was senior vice president at one of the country’s largest industrial staffing corporations where he oversaw operations at more than 175 branch locations. Mike’s range of expertise includes building world-class teams, expanding market share, and leading cultural change. He has a proven track record of executing strategic plans that achieve sustained growth in revenue and NOI. Mike earned his bachelor’s degree in business and industrial productivity from University of South Florida, Tampa.
Vice President of Strategic Solutions
Benny is a third generation Certified Staffing Professional with a true passion for the industry. He was influenced at a very early age by his father, Elliot, who brought Benny into the family business when he was in high school. Those summer jobs made him keenly aware of the processes necessary to provide quality-driven service to both client companies and associates. Benny’s passion for the staffing industry was further fueled as two of his siblings founded staffing agencies of their own in separate niches. In his current role as vice president of strategic solutions, Benny is focused on Active’s expansion through new office openings and acquisitions and to continuing the Elzweig legacy began by his grandfather in 1947.

Vice President, Southern Region
Jim brings more than 19 years of staffing experience to his role at Active. Most recently, he spent nine years as a vice president for a global staffing firm. As vice president of Active’s southern region, Jim leads the company’s expansion into Florida, Texas and future locations as the company grows. Jim earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and is working on his master’s degree at the University of Miami.
Vice President, Finance
Matt was Active’s first high-level financial hire when he joined the company in 2016. He brings to the job extensive experience in managing economic affairs for multiple staffing companies and a proven track record of bringing staffing firms to the next level in their growth. His expertise in process improvement, financial reporting, and innovative thinking has positioned Active for accelerated growth, greater efficiency, and improved productivity.

Delta E. Hazell
Director, Human Resources
Delta E. Hazell leads Active’s HR strategy and manages HR operations, programs and compliance functions for associates and staff. She has more than 20 years experience in management and recruiting roles in industries from retail and pharmaceuticals to finance and banking. Prior to joining Active, she was senior human resources manager for Extensis Group, one of the largest Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs) in the country. Ms. Hazell holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification and is accredited as a Certified Professional by the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM-CP).
Director, Safety & Risk
Nick joined the Active family in 2018 and brings more than two decades of experience in safety and risk prevention, in both the light industrial and public sectors. Prior to joining Active, he was regional safety director for Anheuser-Busch InBev and worked for five years as director of risk management and safety for Logan Bus Companies. He served as a crime prevention officer for the New York Police Department for 14 years before retiring in 2011. Lisio earned a bachelor’s degree in emergency management from Empire State College. He is a licensed New York state insurance broker and a Certified Safety Consultant (CSC).
Office & Administrative Division
As manager of Active’s Office & Administrative Division, Stephanie is passionate about recruiting. She loves knowing that her work helps people get where they want to be in their career. Stephanie earned her associate degree from the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Ill. and is currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program in HR Management at Southern New Hampshire University. Away from the office, she enjoys travelling: experiencing new places and cultures and the thrill of getting out of her comfort zone.

Hector Lopez, Jr.
Although he has a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Hector’s passion is sales. He joined Active in 2018 and enjoys the opportunity to meet people and close deals. He brings to Active a background in staffing that’s broad and deep, spanning light industrial, professional and educational staffing over the last 10 years. A native of New Jersey, Hector spends his off-duty time with his family and enjoys exploring museums and galleries.

Pedro built his staffing expertise in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served in a recruiting/career planning role for 10 years. He went on to work for a large industrial staffing firm for two years before joining Active in 2018. Pedro earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Park University in Parkville, MO, and a master’s degree in HR management from Florida International University. In his spare time, you’ll find Pedro outdoors enjoying camping and sports with his family.

Rachel joined Active in 2018 to open the Tampa office, where she fills the roles of branch manager and business development rep. Previously, she worked at one of the country’s largest industrial staffing firms for more than 19 years. That experience built her expertise in all aspects of the staffing industry: management, sales, client relations and recruiting. Away from work, Rachel is all about family and loves spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Strategic Partnership Division
Jose has more than 16 years with Active, where he oversees the Strategic Partnership Division and the Bronx branch. In addition, he manages Active’s onsite office for a major client in New Jersey. A New York native, Jose’s prior experience includes positions with American Express and Chubb Insurance Group. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and dog Gizmo, and cheering-on his son who is a two-sport athlete at University of Stonybrook.
